The work is a love letter to the artist’s family allotment. The artist and her parents have immigrated to different countries and her grandparents can no longer take care of the allotment. Therefore, the family has been considering selling it. The artist speaks directly to the allotment as though speaking to a loved one. The bonds we make help to define our identity. Their potential loss may lead us to question who we are without them. The work expresses the common anxiety of phases of our lives coming to an end. As time brings change to our surroundings and the people around us, we come to realisations that there are experiences we will never get to relieve again. However, the moments we lived become engraved in time and forever exist in their present reality. Most of the places we leave behind will outlive us, yet we remain a part of their essence.
