My Life Does Not Belong to Me,
2021
Film, 00:02:58

The film consists of visuals that indicate the passage and stillness of time. The visual is accompanied by a monologue narrated by a female voice. The work depicts the loss of oneself involved in the sale of time and the mental impact of durational emotional labour. Employees are expected to abandon their real emotions as they perform an automated version of themselves. The meaningless small talk conversations an employee performs, are often hard to distinguish from one another and blend into one dialogue repeated endlessly.
